Many of Jeanne's designs have been published in leading decorative art magazines over the last several years. You can find most of them, all in one place, in the CD, The Charms of Rosecote. The most recent ones, and the projects that were not included in the CD are listed here. You may purchase the project surfaces in The Rosecote Shop and buy the magazine featuring the project from the publisher.

This lovely table setting for a special evening dessert was featured in the "Developing Skills" article in Issue 4, 5, and 6 of the 1999 Decorative Painter. Designed to inspire the beginner and intermediate oil painter alike, the lessons start with leaves, and with each progressive issue, adds another design element to the project.

Dessert ChargerDessert Charger

The dessert chargers were pictured in issue 4. Painted against a black background and a pastel background, leaves alone can be an elegant motif for an evening treat.

Wild Berry Teapot

The next lesson added mulberries to the design. Painted on a black porcelain tea set, the mulberry motif is simple, allowing you to paint one of these small 2-cup teapots for each of your guests, or if time is a problem, two guests can share one teapot!

Finally, the centerpiece is added to complete the table setting. Daisies bring a freshness to any design and keep this project from becomming too dark and dismal. The design is painted on the lid of a box, which could set on the table or on a wide base candle holder, giving height to the centerpiece and allowing you to arrange other items around the box.

Look for the instructions to these projects in these issues of The Decorative Painter. Paint them and then enjoy the ambiance of a dessert with your friends, or a Teddy Bear and Doll tea with a little one!

Roses of Refinement

Gracing the cover of Issue 1, 1999, of The Decorative Painter is Roses of Refinement. The teapot is a replica of the one recently presented to Blair House, and is painted on matted china, affording you a beautiful painting surface for either oils or acrylics, and allowing it to be used for brewing your favorite tea. You will find the the teapot and matching cream and sugar in The Shop displayed under the "Publications Projects" heading. The instructions for the teapot are printed in The Decorative Painter.
